Lynette Howell Taylor and Stephanie Allain to Produce 2020 Oscars Ceremony

The Academy has set its producers for the 92nd Annual Oscars ceremony, producers Lynette Howell Taylor (“A Star is Born”) and Stephanie Allain (“Hustle & Flow”), Academy president David Rubin announced Friday.

The 92nd Oscars take place on Feb. 9, 2020 and air on ABC.

Howell Taylor and Allain take over from last year’s producers Donna Gigliotti and Glenn Weiss, the latter of whom had helmed the award show for the past four years. This year the producing duo will have the challenge of producing one of the earliest Oscars ceremonies in the history of awards season, and they’ll likewise have to determine whether to reinstate a host after the success of last year’s ceremony without one.

“The combined producing talents of Lynette and Stephanie will bring dynamism and excitement to the 92nd Oscars show,” Rubin said in a statement. “Their vast production experience ranges from groundbreaking independent film to global blockbuster. We look forward to collaborating with them to bring an unforgettable Oscars event to movie fans around the world.”

“We have both watched the Oscars for as long as we can remember, and to be given the opportunity to produce the show is a dream,” Howell Taylor and Allain said in a statement. “It’s an honor and a thrill to join forces to deliver an entertaining show that celebrates the artistry of this year’s best films.”

“How thrilling to have both Lynette and Stephanie leading our Oscars production team,” Academy CEO Dawn Hudson said in a statement. “I have every confidence that they will deliver a high-caliber performance.”
