A popular promotion designed to lure people out of their home offices is back from the Columbus Downtown Development Corp. through mid-November. It offers $10 off lunch at more than 40 restaurants in and near Downtown.

LunchBucks launched in June 2022 with about a dozen restaurants as a program to help small businesses recovering from the pandemic. It now has 42 participating businesses.

This time around, LunchBucks vouchers are being distributed – and must be used – on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Only 200 will be available across four pick-up locations between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The promotion ends Nov. 15.

Those locations are:

  • OSU Urban Arts Space in the Lazarus Building, 50 W. Town St.

  • Through the Capital Crossroads and Discovery special improvement districts on Tuesdays at Pearl Market, N. Pearl and Gay streets, and on Wednesdays at the district office, 23 N. Fourth St.

  • Experience Columbus Visitor Center, 277 W. Nationwide Blvd., in the Arena District.

  • Columbus Museum of Art, 480 E. Broad St.

“When we say, ‘while supplies last,’ we mean it, so don’t wait to get yours each day,” the CDDC advises on its website. All locations will reserve some of their tickets for Wednesday distribution, which guarantees availability but reduces the quantity each day.

A few other rules: Vouchers must be picked up in person, and they must be used in person for dine-in or carryout orders. The $10 discount doesn’t apply to alcohol.

Participating restaurants include North Market locations of Barrel & Boar, Dos Hermanos, Hot Chicken Takeover and Momo Ghar; as well as Downtown spots such as Dempsey’s Food & Spirits, Dirty Frank’s Hot Dog Palace, Due Amici, Market 65, Mikestone 229, Ringside Café and Rishi Sushi.

You can view the full list of participating restaurants at downtowncolumbus.com/lunchbucks. CDDC has told people to check the list weekly, so it’s likely to grow as the promotion continues.
