As Luke Newton stars as the leading man in Bridgerton season 3, fans have taken quite an interest in his offscreen dating life.

During the Netflix show’s first and second season, Newton was in a relationship with Welsh actress Jade Louise Davies. The couple shared various glimpses of their love during the course of their relationship, including attending the season 2 premiere of the hit series together, as well as posting sweet tributes to each other on social media.

After dating for about four years, the couple reportedly parted ways in early 2023. Though his relationship status is currently unclear, fans have been loving his offscreen bond with his Bridgerton costar Nicola Coughlan.

Despite sparking romance rumors, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Newton and Coughlan are “just friends." Coughlan further addressed romance rumors during the season 3 premiere, calling them “really sweet,” adding that they “truly love each other” as friends. “[He’s a] really special person in my life," she told Extra, noting, "I’ll never get to do something like this again, on this scale. It’s so nice having such a lovely friend that I can do all this with.”

She’s a Taurus

Davies was born on May 7, 1993, making her a Taurus. This year, she celebrated turning 31 with a reflective post on Instagram. “31 whole trips around the sun,” she captioned a photo of her holding balloons. “I feel very lucky I get to say that. Beyond grateful for all the messages I feel super super loved. Very grateful for this life I’m getting to live with the very best people who I love so much x.”

She’s a West End actress

Davies is a Welsh actress who has been featured in a variety of shows on the West End. According to Broadway World, her stage credits include Phantom of the Opera, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Les Miserables and Sister Act. She often gives glimpses of her work on Instagram, including behind-the-scenes photos.

Currently, she is in the touring cast of Wicked in the UK and Ireland as a swing/cover for Elphaba. In September 2023, she announced the exciting news, noting how the show and role as her “dream.”

“Going into my ultimate dream show and covering my ultimate dream role is something my brain still can’t quite comprehend,” she wrote. “I’ve dreamt for sooooo long about wearing those costumes, hearing that score every night and going green since the first time I saw the show in London when I was 11. And now it’s actually happening!!! An absolute dream come true and I can’t even begin to explain how grateful I am!! Someone pinch me!!”

She was previously on Britain’s Got Talent

Aside from her theater career, Davies previously made a name for herself on Britain’s Got Talent. She appeared on the show in 2022 as part of the West End supergroup the Welsh of the West End.

She reflected on the experience in an Instagram post shared that May just before the group made it to the semi-finals. “Still on cloud 9 tbh,” she wrote, adding that the audience’s response to their performance was “one of the best days ever.”

Her sister was on Love Island

While Davies is known for her West End career, her sibling initially found fame on TV. Her sister is Love Island star Amber Davies, who notably won the third season in 2017. Since then, Amber has also gone on to perform on stage, appearing in 9 to 5: The Musical, Bring It On: The Musical, Back to the Future: The Musical and Pretty Woman.

She and Luke Newton were in a relationship for about four years

Davies and Newton began dating in 2019, and shared affectionate photos of each other on social media. Additionally, Davies accompanied Newton to several red carpet events including the season 2 premiere of Bridgerton in March 2022.

During an interview with POPSUGAR in March 2021, Newton opened up about Davies, noting how she once made him a book with photos documenting milestone moments in their relationship. “She's got an amazing memory, much better than mine, so it's kind of nice to me to look back and go, ‘Oh, that's what we were doing that day,’ rather than just remembering the photo,” he said of the romantic gesture.

In early 2023, it was reported that the couple had broken up as Davies deleted all of her pictures with Newton from her social media.

She’s dating a fellow West End actor

Since parting ways from Newton, Davies has debuted her new relationship with West End actor Morgan Gregory. The couple went public with their relationship in May 2023 as she celebrated her 30th birthday with a trip to Jamaica. Since then, Davies has shared a look into their time together, including taking adventures together and celebrating the holidays with his family.
