Luke Kleintank exiting “FBI: International” after 3 seasons

The actor follows his costar Heida Reed, who is also leaving the show.

Another star is leaving FBI: International. Luke Kleintank, who plays series lead Scott Forrester, will exit the CBS show after three seasons, Entertainment Weekly can confirm.

“After much thought and consideration, I’ve made the difficult decision to leave FBI: International,” Kleintank said. “This decision is driven by my unwavering commitment to my family, whose love and well-being are paramount in my life."

The actor continued, "I’m profoundly thankful for the extraordinary cast and crew of the show, who have not only been colleagues but also a family away from home. Their unwavering dedication and remarkable talents have made every moment on set an unforgettable journey that has enriched my life in countless ways. Lastly, I would also like to extend my thanks to the fans who have supported us through the first three seasons.”

Kleintank has starred on FBI: International since the series — the third in producer Dick Wolf's franchise of FBI projects — premiered in 2021. The show is mostly set outside the United States, specifically in Budapest, where the FBI's "Fly Team," made up of elite special agents like Forrester, tackle threats to American interests across Europe. It was part of the three-way crossover of FBI shows last year.

But FBI: International has been bleeding team members recently. News broke in December that Heida Reed — who plays Forrester's second-in-command, Jamie Kellett — will also exit in season 3, which will leave the series without its two main characters. Showrunner Derek Haas also departed at the end of season 2, and was replaced by executive producer Matt Olmstead for season 3. However, Christina Wolfe joined the show as a new series regular for season 3, and cast members Vinessa Vidotto, Carter Redwood, and Eva-Jane Willis are still onboard.

New episodes of FBI: International air Tuesdays on CBS. Kleintank's last episode will air May 7, with the season 3 finale coming May 21.
