“Luke Cage” Will Not Return for Third Season, Netflix Says

After two seasons, the Marvel superhero series has been axed

Netflix has announced that they are axing the Marvel superhero series “Luke Cage” after two seasons, Deadline reports. “Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season,” Marvel and the streaming service says in a statement reported by Deadline. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.” Pitchfork has reached out to Netflix representatives for further comment.

A Tribe Called Quest's Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Adrian Younge scored the first two seasons of “Luke Cage.” Read “TV’s Best Music Supervision in 10 Shows” on the Pitch.
