EXCLUSIVE: Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars) has signed on to star in My One and Only, a psychological thriller from writer-director Wayne Kramer (The Cooler) that’s being presented for worldwide sales at Cannes by Film Bridge International.

Set to go before cameras in July, the film centers on Molly (Hale), a recently widowed young woman, suicidal with grief, who is abducted by a man intent on reinventing her as his dead wife — unleashing in Molly a fierce will to live.

“Lucy Hale is one of the most gifted actors of her generation, and I’m excited to work with her on this unconventional and terrifying psychological thriller,” Kramer stated. “Audiences are going to see a new side to her with this performance. I can’t wait to bring it to the screen.”

Added Film Bridge International’s Ellen Wander and Jordan Dykstra, “We are extremely excited to be presenting such elevated material to our customers. Led by a top-notch team, we know audiences will be on the edge of their seats.”

Best known for roles in Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars, as well as films like Fantasy Island and Truth or Dare, Hale has most recently been seen starring in the romantic comedies Which Brings Me to You and Puppy Love, as well as AMC+’s crime drama Ragdoll. Coming up, she’ll also be seen starring in the indie Mort in Sherman Oaks, as well as F*** Mary Kill, an action comedy from Lionsgate and BuzzFeed Studios.

Best known for co-writing and directing the Las Vegas-set romantic drama The Cooler, starring William H. Macy, Maria Bello and Alec Baldwin, which brought the latter an Oscar nomination, Kramer’s other past credits include Running Scared and Pawn Shop Chronicles — a pair of titles starring the late Paul Walker — and the Harrison Ford starrer Crossing Over.

Hale is represented by CAA and Reel Talent Management.
