Lucky 13: Where to trick-or-treat this Halloween on Cape Cod

This is Halloween, this is Halloween! Happy early Halloween everybody. We hope you're gearing up for a weekend full of frights and delights along with a spooktacular Tuesday night on Oct. 31.

In preparation for the upcoming holiday, we wanted to make planning something fun to do with the kids ― less scary than their costumes will be ― so we've compiled a list of some places to trick-or-treat and trunk-or-treat.

Here are 13 absolutely spooktacular places to trick-or-treat this Halloween and Halloweekend. We hope you have a frightfully fun time!

Where to trick or treat on Cape Cod

Trick-or-treating on Main Street in Falmouth

In Falmouth, trick-or-treating is taking place a little early this year as Main Street welcomes costume-clad kiddos to peruse the stores for some sweets on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Trick-or-treating begins at 1 and ends at 3 p.m. along Main Street.

Mashpee Commons' Halloween Celebration

You might remember the Mashpee Commons' Halloween Celebration from our earlier roundup but in case you forgot or didn’t read it, the Mashpee Commons Halloween Celebration is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 28 but trick-or-treating goes to 6 p.m.

Stop by any store that has a “trick-or-treat here” poster in the window for a piece of candy (or two if you’re lucky).

The Mashpee Commons is located at 22 Steeple St. in Mashpee.

Trick-or-treat at Mahoney's Falmouth

Come costume-clad for a Halloween bash at Mahoney's Falmouth on Oct. 28! Glide like ghouls through their Halloween displays, picking up treats along the way. Maybe even grab a scarily good bite from the Chariot Wood Fired Pizza truck in between eating Snickers and Reese's.

Mahoney's Falmouth's trick-or-treat is at 958 East Falmouth Hwy. in East Falmouth. The event is free to attend and goes from 1 to 5 p.m.

Pilgrim Congressional Church's trunk-or-treat

At Pilgrim Congressional Church in Harwich Port, their annual trunk-or-treat event is on Oct. 29 accompanied by games and refreshments in Monbleau Hall.

The event is free to attend and will run from 4 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 29. Trunk-or-treating will take place in the back parking lot of the Pilgrim Congressional Church, located at 533 Route 28 in Harwich Port.

John Wesley United Methodist Church's trunk-or-treat

John Wesley United Methodist Church is also holding its trunk-or-treat from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 29. Stop by for some sweet treats and to see their first-ever pumpkin display.

If you’d like to have a pumpkin featured in the display, stop by from 1 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 28 for pumpkin carving. It’s a BYOP — bring your own pumpkin — event, and bring your own tools for that matter, but all pumpkins carved will be on display for the trunk-or-treaters.

John Wesley United Methodist Church is at 270 Gifford St. in Falmouth.

Cape Cod Church's Halloween trunk-or-treat

Cape Cod Church is hosting its trunk-or-treat from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Halloween. While the trunks will be filled with treats, that's not all the spooktacular fun happening at the Church on Oct. 31. Carnival games, food trucks, face painting and inflatables will also be on-site, making sure your Halloween ends with a fright!

The Cape Cod Church's trunk-or-treat is free to attend. Cape Cod Church is located at 1205 Nathan Ellis Hwy. in East Falmouth.

Mall-o-Ween at Cape Cod Mall

Something spooky is happening on Halloween at the Cape Cod Mall on Halloween night: Mall-o-Ween. The annual Mall-o-Ween trick-or-treat event kicks off from 4 to 6 p.m. promising scary costumes and sweet treats.

Race around the mall to participating stores for a treat.

Mall-o-ween is free to attend. The Cape Cod Mall is located at 769 Iyannough Road in Hyannis.

Trick-or-treat drive-thru at the Harwich Community Center

A trick-or-treat drive-thru? Now that's something new. If you're near the Harwich Community Center on Halloween, stop by the drive-thru for a goody bag for your little monsters starting at 5:30 p.m.

Goody bags are limited to one per child and will be handed out while supplies last so consider making it a first stop on your night of frights.

The Harwich Community Center is located at 100 Oak St. in Harwich.

Trick-or-treat with Cotuit Fire Department at Cotuit Public Library

If your little ones are on the younger side or anxious to get the Halloween celebrations started, the Cotuit Fire Department and Cotuit Public Library's trick-or-treat might be a good place for you to begin.

Trick-or-treating begins at 3:30 p.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. on Halloween at the Cotuit Public Library, 871 Main St. in Cotuit.

Halloween Greet n' Treat in Provincetown

The Provincetown Recreation Department's ninth annual greet n' treat will take place from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Halloween at Motta Field. Stop by for some spooky sweets and to see some frightfully fun vehicles decorated by local organizations and businesses.

Motta Fields is at 25 Winslow St. in Provincetown.

Halloween Haunt at Yarmouth Port Common

Hop around from historic house to haunted house at the Yarmouth Port Common's Halloween Haunt. Looking at the Historical Society of Yarmouth's self-guided ghost tour, many of the historic places handed out treats and may have a ghost or two hidden in their wings.

The Yarmouth Port Common's Halloween Haunt takes place across four locations — the Edward Gorey House, Thacher Hall, Chapter House and the Captain Bangs Hallet House Museum — and goes from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Halloween.

Safe Trick or Treat in Hyannis

Trick-or-treat is available on Hyannis' Main Street from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Halloween. Traffic will be blocked off for safe trick-or-treating and businesses along Main Street with be handing out treats!

Trunk-or-treat in Wellfleet

Wellfleet's fifteenth annual trunk-or-treat festival is set to take place from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Halloween at the Wellfleet Drive-in Theater. Admission is free and the hot dogs and cider are free as well.

The Wellfleet-drive in theater is at 51 Route 6 in Wellfleet.
