Lubbock Symphony Orchestra presents Brahms, Tchaikovsky

The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra is set to perform with Guest Pianist Adam Golka at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences, sponsored by Peoples Bank and Bustos Law Firm.

Led by renowned conductor David Cho, the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra will perform two romantic compositions sequentially - Johannes Brahms's "Piano Concerto No. 1" and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's "Symphony No. 3".

Alongside the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, the Polish American guest pianist, Adam Golka, will showcase his exceptional skills and emotional depth as he performs the demanding "Piano Concerto No. 1."

"We are thrilled to bring the risk-taking talent of Adam Golka to The Hub City," said Galen Wixon, president and CEO of Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. "His dramatic flair on the keys is truly unmatched, and we know that this concert will be one of the highlights of our season."

Adam Golka is an accomplished pianist who gained recognition for performing all of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas at the young age of 18. Recently, in 2020-2021, Golka performed the cycle of Beethoven's 32 Sonatas at two different venues - the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park (Florida) and Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue (NYC).

Additionally, Golka created 32 conversational short films with an array of special guests known as 32@32, which complemented his performances of each Sonata and can be viewed on YouTube.

Tickets start at $25. For more information, call (806) 762-1688 or visit LubbockSymphony.org/brahms.
