Teuhema will be transferring from the LSU football team.

LSU announced Wednesday that starting guard Maea Teuhema had been indefinitely suspended for a violation of team rules.

Per Tigerbait.com, the issue is an academic one. LSU’s second summer session grades were released on Wednesday. It’s unclear if or when he’ll be able to rejoin the team.

Teuhema, a junior in 2017, has been a starter for each of his first two seasons with the program. His loss is a big one as LSU is already replacing two starters on the offensive line. Without Teuhema, center Will Clapp and tackle KJ Malone are the only two returning starters.

Maea’s brother, Sione, transferred to an FCS school in the summer of 2016. Sione Teuhema was suspended for the final three games of the 2015 season and suspended again during spring practices in 2016.

In other news, burglary charges against LSU tackle Adrian Magee have been dropped. Magee was suspended from the team in April for a violation of team rules and subsequently arrested on the charges. Per the Advocate, the charges were dropped because the alleged victim requested that they be dismissed.

Running back Lanard Fournette, the brother of Leonard Fournette, is entering a pretrial diversion program for his arrest for gambling with a false ID.
