Lower Makefield unveils new way to reserve pickleball courts

Pickleball frenzy is swinging through Bucks County, and players in Lower Makefield Township now have a new way to get on the court.

Club organizers created a new membership program for the Lower Makefield Township Pickleball Club, allowing players to reserve courts and times for this spring and summer.

"The new Membership will have many more perks than we previously had with our Township MeetUp Group, which will disband March 3, 2024," read a statement from Lower Makefield Township. "Members will use our new Court Reserve App for easier playtime management, back-end support from dedicated support staff, and member discounts on lessons and special pickleball-related events.

"Events and group lesson information will be announced in the spring."

How to sign up for the Lower Makefield Township Pickleball Club

Pickleball players need to first fill out and submit the online 2024 LMT Pickleball Membership application.

The pickleball club has different per-person fees, depending on where you live and if you want a seasonal or annual membership.

  • The resident snowbird fee, which allows court access from April through October, is $60.

  • The nonresident snowbird fee is $75.

  • The annual resident fee is $120.

  • The annual nonresident fee is $150.

Where else can I play pickleball in Bucks County?

Last year, Middletown opened eight new lit courts at Firefighters' Park, in addition to the three courts it opened recently at Middletown Community Center on Trenton Road.

When combined with the 21 tennis courts located in Bucks County's Core Creek Park and Frosty Hollow Tennis Center, which are both also located in Middletown, the township just might be the pickleball court sports capital of the county.
