'Loved filming here': Ben Stiller spotted filming 'Nutcrackers' movie in Wilmington

A well-known actor and comedian is filming a movie near Cincinnati.

Ben Stiller was spotted in Wilmington, Ohio, this week, while filming his upcoming movie, "Nutcrackers."

The actor posted a photo on X, formerly known as Twitter, of himself standing in front of the Clinton County History Center on Thursday. The center's sign featured a personalized message to Stiller referencing his popular "Night at the Museum" franchise. It read: "Ben ‒ we're ready for Night at the Museum 4. How about you?"

Stiller responded to the note in his X post.

"Thanks everyone in Wilmington for being so kind and generous. Loved filming here!" he wrote. "And thanks to (The Murphy Theatre)! Check it out it’s a beautiful theater with lots of history. And yes (Clinton County History Center) let’s go for #4!"

The center posted a video on Facebook of Stiller taking a photo with the sign.

"Friends our message to Ben worked!!! He saw our sign and stopped by this afternoon for a selfie with it," the post read. "Our security cameras caught him and his team dodging traffic."

According to Deadline, "Nutcrackers" is currently in production in Ohio. Stiller stars as the work-obsessed Mike, who is forced to travel to rural Ohio to take care of his four nephews after their parents die in a car accident. The "Zoolander" actor is also a producer on the project, directed by David Gordon Green and written by Leland Douglas.

Cincinnatians can get in on the action, too. D. Lynn Meyers, a Cincinnati casting director, started calling for extras for a movie filming in Wilmington, seemingly "Nutcrackers," on Facebook in November. In one post, she said the film featured a "big name actor."
