A Love Letter to Storytelling from the Creator of Subway Book Review

For the better part of a decade, documentarian and creator of Subway Book Review Uli Beutter Cohen rode the subway through New York City's underground to observe society through the lens of our most creative thinkers: the readers of books. Director Anne Hollowday and Cinematographer Sachi Bahra shot this film on 16mm to celebrate the upcoming publication of Beutter Cohen's new book, Between the Lines, a love letter to books, culture, and our collective potential, and a timely collection of beloved and never-before-published stories reflecting who we are and where we are going. Between the Lines is “a vibrant love note to New York” (Library Journal) and “an addicting smile of a compendium” (The Chicago Tribune) that “arrives like manna from heaven” (Esquire).Director Anne Hollowday @anneholidayWriter Uli Beutter Cohen @theubcCinematographer Sachi Bahra @sachibahraProducer Monica Machado @monica.fran.machadoEditor Alec Cohen @alec_cohenExecutive Producers Simon & Schuster @simonbooks Subway Book Review @subwaybookreviewFeaturing:Adam Eli @adameliAn Rong Xu @anrizzyDevon Rodriguez @devonrodriguezartDiana Schlossberg @jacobdianajacobdianaDusty Childers @duddylynnHappy David @happydavidHarmonica Sunbeam @hsunbeamKamau Ware @kamauwareMaria Mendez @maria_mendezPaola Mendoza @paolamendozaQween Jean @qween_jeanStephanie BuiSydnee Washington @justsydbwYahdon Israel @yahdon Masks were only briefly removed for certain shots.
