Hortsmann admitted the news was a true surprise to the couple, who both thought they were expecting a little girl.

“I thought I was gonna be a girl dad. I thought for sure it was gonna be a girl. I don’t know why," he said, with his partner adding they'll "have a girl later."

Later, Gibelli joked that she's happy to "keep [trying] ‘til I have a girl."

And while it wasn't what they were expecting, there were some hints that came even before the couple knew they'd be starting a family together.

"I had a dream, and I have crazy dreams, like every single night, but they've even gotten crazier during pregnancy," she explained.

"This one specifically, I was like, ‘I had a dream I got pregnant,’ and instead of the little pee stick saying ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ it said ‘boy,’” Gibelli recalled.

Horstmann said it was "Two weeks before we even knew she was pregnant.”

“My dream came true! How crazy is that?” she laughed.

Horstmann was first introduced to audiences as a contestant on Becca Kufrin's Bachelorette season. After ending the season as a runner-up to Kufrin's now-ex-fiancé Garrett Yrigoyen, he caused quite the stir on Bachelor in Paradise in 2019 due to his pre-show entanglements with Caelynn Miller-KeyesKristina Schulman and Hannah Godwin.

As for Gibelli, she gained recognition for appearing on Love Is Blind in 2020. She met and fell in love with contestant Damian Powers, to whom she got engaged. However, the couple later split.

Gibelli explained she's gone back and forth on deciding a birthing plan but landed on a "happy medium," which is "to have a doula in a hospital setting."

The mom-to-be also said that in addition to her doula, she and Horstmann are planning on "HydroBirthing," a practice where the person in labor relaxes their body and controls their breathing through positive affirmations, meditation and visualizations.

Their little boy's due date just happens to be Gibelli's birthday, April 3. "We found out we were pregnant, and then we put in the conception date and everything into a little calculator, and [the due date] came up as my birthday. Out of all the days – 365 – what are the odds it came up as my birthday? We were just like, ‘Alright, this is so meant to be.’”

The couple also shared they have a name picked, unless, Horstmann said, "He pops out, and we’re like, ‘No, that’s not his name.’"

The dad-to-be said, "We love it. It’s a strong name, and it’s unique.”

Gibelli called the name "very unique... but also not too unique.”
