“Love Is Blind”'s Alexa and Brennon Lemieux Reveal Sex of Baby on the Way: 'So Happy' (Exclusive)

Alexa and Brennon Lemieux are having a baby girl!

The couple, who met and got married on season 3 of Netflix's Love Is Blind, confirmed the news exclusively to PEOPLE. While Alexa, 29, and Brennon, 33, chose to learn the news privately, they shared a sweet photo with PEOPLE to share the exciting announcement.

In the picture at a piano, Alexa wears a pink, sheer dress, which opens at her stomach, signifying that the couple is expecting a girl. Brennon stands beside his wife, placing a hand on the piano and smiling for the camera.

"We decided to find out the gender privately at home with just the two of us so that we could have a special moment," Alexa tells PEOPLE. "We got some cupcakes with the color icing either being pink or blue."

"I'm so happy we're having a precious baby girl," the mom-to-be continues. "A girl that I can raise to be strong and confident in herself and proud of who she is. I can't wait to have a little mini-me and play dress up and plan tea parties and wear matching outfits with."

Noting that she's excited to meet her baby girl this summer, Alexa says she's also looking forward to seeing her husband step into a new role.

"After seeing how patient and sweet Brennon is with my baby sister Emma, I just know he's going to be an incredible father to our daughter. The perfect girl dad."

Brennon also shares his excitement with PEOPLE, adding that the two preferred to celebrate the special moment with their dogs.

"Alexa and myself appreciate all the love and support we receive from people who have kept up with our lives," he says. "But we cherish moments that we can keep secret and share with just each other. We found out the gender of our baby during an intimate moment at home with our puppies."

"Being raised with four brothers and no sisters, I initially was very nervous to be a girl dad since I was unaware of what that might entail for the future," Brennon continues. "Over the past several months, Alexa and I have been nesting for our daughter."

"I am still very nervous to be a dad, but I know that I am going to love and care for my daughter. I am certain our daughter knows she already has us wrapped around her little finger."

The couple first exclusively shared their exciting pregnancy news with PEOPLE in January.

"We wanted this to happen and so we're just grateful to be here," said Alexa at the time. "It's been such a big part of my life [and] I'm the worst secret keeper ... so I'm ready for it to be out there!"

"I just love looking in the mirror, because I remember not being pregnant and looking in the mirror and [thinking], 'Oh, I just can't wait for something to be there,'" she continued. "Now there is, and I'm like, I love it! I just lay my hands on my stomach and just rub it all the time. I'm obsessed."

Added Brennon: "Everybody always says the same thing ... which is when you least expect something to happen, it will happen. That was the case meeting each other. I had stopped dating, seeing people. She had stopped, and we just met on a show so it was by happenstance. And the same thing with this, which is you don't really expect anything to happen and it happened. So it's always good."
