Louisville rising junior Hailey Van Lith was announced as a member of the 2022 USA Basketball Women's 3x3 National Team on Friday.

The team will compete in the 2022 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Antwerp, Belgium, starting June 22 with pool play against New Zealand and Austria. Van Lith will compete alongside Ashley Jones, who will be returning to Iowa State this year for a fifth season, Cierra Burdick, a Tennessee graduate, and Lauren Cox, the No. 3 pick in the 2020 WNBA draft. The team will be coached by Duke women’s basketball coach Kara Lawson, who has won seven gold medals as the USA Basketball 3x3 head coach since 2017.

This won’t be Van Lith’s first experience playing in the FIBA 3x3 World Cup. In 2019, she was the U18 World Cup MVP and won a gold medal. The year before that, she also struck gold at the Youth Olympic Games and FIBA U17 World Cup.

"This is a great opportunity for Hailey," UofL head women's basketball coach Jeff Walz said via a press release. "Hailey loves to compete for USA Basketball and to play in the 3x3 World Cup is something she's excited about and will represent USA basketball very well. I'm looking forward to watching her compete."
