An indoor trampoline and entertainment complex is now open in south Louisville.

Sky Zone opened its newest location on Oct. 6 in Louisville at 4200 Outer Loop in Okolona. This is the brand's second location in Kentucky.

"We're absolutely thrilled to unveil a new and exhilarating indoor play experience to the Louisville community," Vimal and Jiya Patel, franchise owners of Sky Zone Louisville, said in a news release.

Sky Zone Louisville offers a unique mix of attractions, including springy Air Courts that give guests an extra boost while shooting baskets or scoring soccer goals; a Ninja Course; an interactive Multiball course that immerses players in a full-body play experience; a Drop Slide; and zip lines that send riders soaring across the park, according to the release.

"As the demand for family fun destinations continues to increase, we're working to meet demand and bring the excitement of Sky Zone to even more communities,” Mike Revak, chief business officer for Sky Zone, said in the release.

Sky Zone Louisville is open Sunday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Courier Journal sat down with Vimal Patel to ask a few questions about the brand and what people can expect from Sky Zone Louisville.

The following Q&A has been edited for length and clarity.

Why did you want to open a Sky Zone in Louisville?

"We wanted to open a Sky Zone in Louisville because we saw a need for a safe and fun place for both kids and kids at heart to get active. Louisville is a great city with so much to offer, but we felt that there was a gap in indoor activities that were both fun and beneficial to physical health. Sky Zone is a great place to burn calories, build muscle and improve coordination."

What made you choose the Outer Loop location?

"The Outer Loop location is ideal for a Sky Zone because it is easily accessible from all over Louisville. It is also located in a high-traffic area, giving the business more visibility. Additionally, the Outer Loop area is growing rapidly and we believe that Sky Zone will be a great addition to the community."

What do you hope this business brings to the Louisville community?

"We hope that Sky Zone will bring a new and exciting form of entertainment to the Louisville community and that it will be a place where people of all ages can come together to have fun and get active."

Why is it important for kids to have access to a business like Sky Zone?

"Sky Zone is important to children because it provides them with a safe and engaging space to jump, play and get active. The park provides kids with a variety of activities to choose from – ranging from trampolines and zip lines to Ultimate Dodgeball and a Ninja Warrior Course. Sky Zone also has a safe environment, with trained staff members who supervise the activities and ensure that everyone is having a safe time. "

What is your favorite feature at Sky Zone and why?

"My personal favorite feature at Sky Zone is the Drop Slide. I love the feeling of being airborne and landing softly on an airbag. Sky Zone is [also] a great place for birthday parties, school field trips, corporate events and other group gatherings. We hope to see everyone at Sky Zone Louisville soon so they can experience the fun for themselves."
