Louis C.K. Says He Has Quit the Internet

Louis C.K. stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he discussed his recent departure from using the internet. He said, “The last month I haven’t been on the Internet.” While this is shocking in this day and age, it’s even more shocking considering he launched a Web series at the end of January titled Horace and Pete.

The comedian said he quit going onto the Internet because “I hate this feeling that I’ve got this thing in my hand all the time and it’s a bit of an addiction and it’s not good — everything is mean and weird.” Louis C.K. admitted to being weak when it comes to the Internet, so he had someone special help keep him off. He said, “I gave my phone to my daughter, my 10-year-old, and I said put a code in for the restriction and then take me off.”

Louis C.K. realized that life offline was great and he enjoyed reconnecting with people instead of a machine. He said, “I just feel better because I don’t know what is going on, and it’s exciting when somebody says, ‘Did you hear about the thing that he said?’ And I’m like, ‘What did he say?’”

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
