Louis C.K. Wants to Keep Things Low-Key in His 'Saturday Night Live' Promo

Louis C.K. is coming back to Saturday Night Live, and the acerbic stand-up is looking to keep things a little low-key.

SNL's teaser for the Louie star's upcoming episode opens up with flashy colors, slow-mo walking and a synth-pop score from this week's musical guest, The Chainsmokers -- but C.K.'s not interested in all the unnecessary bells and whistles.

"Can we stop now, with the slow motion?" C.K. says as he reaches the Studio 8H stage, causing the music to cut out. "Can we just have some light and stop with the smoke? It's a comedy show. It's not the GRAMMYs. Can we just get on with this?"

C.K.'s stripped-down, somewhat agitated and emotionally exhausted tone in the promo is exactly what fans have come to expect and love about the outspoken stand-up, and with this being his fourth time as host, expectations for the episode are high.

C.K.'s episode of SNL airs Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
