Lori Harvey on ‘Owning’ Her Style: ‘I’ve Gotten More Comfortable in My Skin’ (Exclusive)

"I always look back and I'm like, 'Wow, I don't even remember that person.' But like, 'Okay... we love the growth,' " Harvey told PEOPLE

Lori Harvey is getting candid about taking fashion risks.

The model and entrepreneur, 26, discussed the secret to her body confidence after pulling off several style moments this year — including dressing up as Lara Croft for Halloween and wearing a plunging fitted maxi dress for Michael Rubin’s Fourth of July party.

“I think just as I've grown older, I've gotten more comfortable in my skin,” Harvey told PEOPLE at the 2023 Baby2Baby Holiday Distribution presented by FRAME & Nordstrom at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. "Just more confident in who I am. So now I just embrace it. Embrace it all. Take it all in and really owning it."

She also noted that her style has come a long way from where it was when she was a teenager.

“Honestly, just as I'm growing, I always look back and I'm like, ‘Wow, I don't even remember that person.’ But like, ‘Okay, love this. And we love the growth,’ ” Harvey said.

While she may be a style connoisseur, the entrepreneur said there are moments where she opts for a more laid back and casual style, including during the upcoming holiday season. She told PEOPLE that she was planning on spending the holidays in the United Arab Emirates this year with her parents, Marjorie Harvey and Steve Harvey, siblings as well as her nieces and nephews.

“I want to be comfortable, especially because all the kids are coming over, and they’ll color on me. They’ll put stickers on me. They’ll want to braid my hair. They’ll want to do anything so I'm like let me just be chill, sweats and then whatever you guys want to do,” she explained. “If you want to draw on me, whatever, I'm here.”

Last month, Harvey unveiled a new clothing collaboration called Lori Harvey x PrettyLittleThing Partywear Collection. She modeled off several items in a fashion shoot posted on Instagram along with the words, “My party collection w/ @prettylittlething is live and ready to shop now.”

In the photos, Harvey wore various skintight dresses including a snake-print sequined mini dress with a V-neck cut. She also donned a brown lace mini dress with long sleeves and a black sequined cross top with a matching mini skirt as well as a purple sequined mini dress.

The collaboration came a week after she and actor Damson Idris announced they had decided to go their separate ways after a year of dating.

"We are at a point in our lives where our individual paths require our full attention and dedication,” the former couple said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “We part ways remaining friends with nothing but love and respect for each other and the time we shared together.”
