Ahead of Lorde's performance at Coachella on Sunday, the pop star will take the stage Friday (April 14) night at a much smaller desert venue -- the honky-tonk-style barbecue restaurant and music venue Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown, California.
Lorde announced the surprise performance via Twitter on Friday around 5 p.m. PST, tweeting out a link to purchase $20 tickets for the midnight show. She followed up about five minutes later to announce the show was already sold out.
This will be Lorde's first performance in two and a half years and possibly the smallest stage she will ever play to a public audience for the rest of her career.
Pappy & Harriet's is located near Joshua Tree National Park, about 50 miles from the Coachella festival grounds. The saloon is a frequent outpost for underplays a few hours out of Los Angeles.
