The 'Lord Of The Rings' Amazon Series Casts Another Lead Role

Returning To Middle-earth

Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit make up one of the most popular and lucrative franchises in film history, so it was really only a matter of time before someone returned to Middle-earth to mine more of this rich world.

Amazon will be bringing J.R.R. Tolkien's world to life on the small screen, and while the plot covered has so far been kept a secret, it will cover a different age than the films.

A Second Lead Is Cast

With J.A. Bayona tapped to direct and Game of Thrones' Bryan Cogman aboard as consulting producer, the creative team is shaping up quite nicely.

The cast is finally starting to come together as well, starting with Markella Kavenagh and Midsommar's Will Poulter is the latest actor cast.

The Mystery Surrounding The Plot

There is no news yet about who Poulter is playing -- a hobbit? A younger Elrond? -- but this isn't his first time entering a popular fantasy realm. Poulter first came on the scene starring in The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader as Eustace Scrub before becoming better known for films like We're The Millers and The Maze Runner.
