T-Boz and Chilli front the new “CrazySexyGood” campaign (named after TLC’s 1994 album, CrazySexyCool), sporting Good American’s popular jeans and denim jackets, athleisurewear, puffer jackets, and faux leather pieces (a.k.a. Good American’s “Better Than Leather” collection). Prices range from $65 for a bodysuit to $250 for a rhinestone-encrusted stiletto.

Good American says the collection was inspired by TLC’s song “Unpretty” (which actually appears on the group’s Fanmail album). The lyrics, which urge women to find worth in being strong and confident, mirror Good American’s mission to celebrate beauty in all shapes and sizes. The brand says TLC were the perfect partners for the campaign, with the three members having always promoted individuality and authenticity.

“Throughout the Nineties and early 2000s, TLC showed us that ‘sexy’ can come in many forms,” reads a caption on the Good American Instagram page. “The trio’s signature look — a mix of sport, goth and street was a new kind of sexy at the time – making these ladies fashion trailblazers.”

Of course, many of the looks hark back to TLC’s iconic outfits from their heyday too — think oversized puffer jackets in bold colors and baggy light-wash jeans.

In an accompanying behind-the-scenes video of the campaign, Chilli and T-Boz reveal this is the first fashion photoshoot that the two have done together “in years.”

The two also give a shout out to their late group member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, with T-Boz saying, “She may not be here physically but you’ll feel the essence of Left Eye no matter what we do.”

Adds Chilli, “We always keep that legacy alive.”

Both T-Boz and Chilli credit their strong sense of self for the group’s longevity. Whether it came to music or style or even lyrics, the two say they always had a say in what they put out there. “We never changed for the label or for whatever fad was going on at the time,” Chilli says in the video. “We always stayed true to ourselves. We never changed for anybody.”

That’s exactly why they say Good American’s mission and clothing resonated with them. “I don’t think you should ever change for anybody,” T-Boz says. “Change for yourself. If you want to better yourself, than do it for yourself and only yourself,” she adds, “We’re living proof that that works.”
