The holiday season officially gets underway Thursday with Thanksgiving.
From raucous concerts to immersive art exhibits to holiday events of all kinds, there's plenty of reasons to get out of the house and have a good time during the week of Thanksgiving:
Thanksgiving Eve with Cam Allen

'Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back in Concert'

The Oklahoma City Philharmonic will perform John Williams' Oscar-nominated score live as the revered 1980 movie plays on a giant screen. Concertgoers are encouraged to dress as their favorite "Star Wars" character and enter a costume contest at the show.
'Clue: Onstage'

Carpenter Square's 40th season — and first in its new downtown OKC home — continues with the farcical murder-mystery based on the uproarious 1985 Paramount movie, which was in turn inspired by the classic Hasbro board game.
Leftover Turkey with Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Tulsa

'Treasures of Tuscany: Renaissance in Arezzo,' Norman

Wish you could escape on an Italian holiday? See this exhibit from Norman’s Italian sister city, Arezzo, of major artworks, goldsmithery, textiles and illuminated books, many of which have never been displayed outside Italy before. Admission to the University of Oklahoma museum is free, but it's closed Mondays, as well as Nov. 23-24 for the holiday.
Swon Brothers' Thanksgiving, Tishomingo

Muskogee natives Zach and Colton Swon return to their home state for their sixth annual post-Turkey Day appearance at their former "The Voice" coach Blake Shelton's restaurant, bar and venue. The festivities include a barbecue dinner and a set by the country duo.
Guthrie Territorial Christmas Celebrations Opening Night

The historic Logan County seat launches its annual holiday celebration at 6 p.m. with a Lighted Parade, featuring illuminated cars, trucks, dune buggies and more traveling from the Scottish Rite Temple west along Oklahoma Avenue. The parade ends at the State Capital Publishing Museum and is immediately followed by the Territorial Governor Ceremonies.
Factory Obscura Thanksgiving Break

The Red Dirt singer-songwriter kicks off the holiday season of 45-minute musical excursions featuring talented local performers. Concert cruises are scheduled for Thursdays and Fridays Nov. 24-Dec. 22, with showtimes at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and check-in and boarding at Put a Cork In It Winery, 115 E California Ave.
Miss Brown to You, Edmond

The venerable musical duo of Louise Goldberg and Mary Reynolds will perform their usual eclectic set in one of their regular spots.
30th Enid Lights Up the Plains

'Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience,' Tulsa

One of several popular experiential exhibits devoted to the works of the iconic Dutch artist, "Beyond Van Gogh" uses large-scale projections to immerse attendees into famed paintings like “The Starry Night,” “Sunflowers,” and “Café Terrace at Night." Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, with final entry one hour before close. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the touring attraction is closed Christmas Day.
Science Museum Oklahoma's Pullman Parlor Car Tours
When: Nov. 20-Jan. 6.

The museum continues its tradition of opening up its 1929 Pullman parlor car on the first floor for holiday tours, which are free with paid museum admission. The parlor car is only visible from the outside most of the year to preserve its historic interior.
Lyric Theatre's 'A Christmas Carol'

After staging the yuletide classic outdoors at the Harn Homestead for the past three years due to the pandemic, Lyric is taking its 13th annual production of Charles Dickens' often-adapted "Ghost Story of Christmas" back indoors. Last year, Devon Energy announced a $1 million gift to help the nonprofit arts organization return the show to its Plaza Theatre with a new set and costumes.
'Frybread Face and Me' opening night

The nonprofit OKC theater will celebrate Native American Heritage Day and the start of its two-week run for Indigenous writer-director Billy Luther's acclaimed new film with free frybread for the first 100 attendees. Sunrise Tippeconnie, director of programming for OKC's deadcenter Film Festival, and Angela Startz, his co-host on the Reel Indigenous Podcast, will introduce the 7 p.m. screening. The film also will show at 9 p.m.
'A Territorial Christmas Carol,' Guthrie

The nonprofit theater has staged its signature seasonal show — adapted by the late Oklahoman Stephen Scott from the classic novel by Charles Dickens — for 1,000 performances and 150,000 patrons over more than 30 years.
Arvest Winterfest, Tulsa

The 16th annual downtown Tulsa holiday festival includes a skating rink, huge holiday tree and weekend festivities, including free live entertainment, the Winterfest Express Train and Sundays with Santa. The Share the Light opening ceremony is 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 24.
'Preston Singletary: Raven and the Box of Daylight'

Writer-director Rodrigo Moreno's playful heist movie is Argentina's official submission for best international feature film for the 2024 Academy Awards.
'The Polar Express Train Ride'

A full theatrical show with a train car for a stage, the immersive ride faithfully follows Chris Van Allsburg’s beloved 1985 children's book and Robert Zemeckis' enduring 2004 computer-animated film starring Tom Hanks.
Devon Ice Rink

The rink returns for its 12th season in the Myriad Gardens, offering 5,000 square feet of real ice, glittering lights and seasonal food and beverage offerings in the heart of downtown.
Red Earth TreeFest

The venerable Red Earth Inc. nonprofit arts organization annually invites Oklahoma-based Native American nations to decorate Christmas trees with handmade ornaments and art objects to showcase the distinctive cultures of each tribe. The display is free to see and will include this year about a dozen decked-out evergreens.
Norman's Crest on Ice

For the third year, the grocery store is inviting skaters to the 4,200-square-foot rink in its parking lot.
Edmond Ice Rink
When: Through Jan. 15.

Zip across the real ice at the rink next to the silo in Mitch Park. The rink also is adjacent to Edmond Electric's annual Luminance holiday lights display, making the season bright through Jan. 1.
Yukon Ice Rink

The rink returns for its fourth season as part of Yukon's Christmas in the Park, billed as the state's largest drive-thru light display.
