Belles, Bourbon and Belladonna: A Murder Mystery Dinner

Salt Fork Lodge and Conference Center is hosting a night of food and fun this Friday. A murder mystery dinner is guaranteed to get your heart racing. The event includes dinner, and a cash bar will be available for drink purchases. Tickets are $60 per person for the evening. Live bluegrass performance

Head to Guernsey County’s only opera house to hear some of the best bluegrass around. The Pennyroyal Opera House in Fairview presents Appalachian Swing at 7 p.m. on Friday. According to the press release, "The band was formed in 2021 as the result of a show performed by Adam Schlenker, Hayes Griffith, Todd Sams and George Welling. The group has an instrumental front line that rivals any band in the country." The opening band for the evening will be the Dennison University American Roots Ensemble The kitchen and doors open at 5 p.m. The bluegrass show will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door. Backbone in Barnesville

Main Street Barrel House will once again be home to the rocking sounds of Backbone. This hometown band from Byesville is sure to get you pumped with their mix of classic rock, current favorites, and country hits. The show is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. on Saturday, but events will be taking place all day at the neighboring Barnesville Pumpkin Festival. For more information call 740-619-0591. Old Washington Fall Festival

The quaint village of Old Washington will be the place to be for another fall festival. Scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, the event is packed with activities. There will be a touch-a-truck, children's activities, pumpkin decorating, hay rides and live music. When you get hungry, choose from one of the food trucks on site. Scheduled to be at the festival are All American Lemonade, Kingdom Coffee, Slum Dogs, Up in Smoke, Fat Bottom BBQ and Grill, Uncle Dan Ice Cream and Haney’s Kettle Corn. Pick up some new mums or one of the crafts for sale. Vendors will be set up selling wares. There is no admission charge. 228 Old National Road, Old Washington.

2023 Deerassic Fall Fest

Good old-fashioned fall fun can be found at Deerassic. According to the Facebook event page, "Youth ages 3 to 15 can enjoy an event full of free carnival games such as Deerassic bag toss, hayrides, candy corn ring toss, sack races, Deerassic balloon shoot, and more. Jungle Island Petting Zoo will also be bringing kangaroos, camels, tortoises, and more. Attendees can also grab a bite to eat at Kona Ice and Mandi's Fixin's as well."
