Festival celebrates the history of baseball

Holloway Old Timer’s Festival. Running for the 75th year, this celebration of the history of baseball in the small Belmont County village of Holloway is guaranteed to bring a smile. Come hungry and grab some soup beans and cornbread, or try the chicken dinner on Sunday. Watch the Dover Redlegs take on the Holloway Railroaders at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Past festivals have brought baseball celebrities like Cy Young and Johnny Blatnik. Hosted by the Holloway Old Timer’s Baseball Association and Belmont County Tourism, the event runs Friday through Sunday and is open to the public. Muskingum University has Community Day

Head to the Muskingum University campus for an afternoon and evening of fun. Party in the Park is scheduled to take place after the Muskingum University football game and run from 4:30 to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Live music from Fly Ohio and the Steve Spires band will keep your toes tapping, while a rock climbing wall and ax throwing will test you physically. There is no charge for the climbing wall or ax throwing. Food trucks are scheduled to be on-site and a beer tent for those over 21 years old will also be available with valid identification. Car show in Byesville

The Byesville Beautification Car Show returns to the village. It’s going to be a busy Saturday packed with fun and activities for the whole family. Check out the classic cars and see what Byesville has to offer. All proceeds from the event will go to the Byesville Village Beautification Fund. For more information call 740-260-3088. Events are scheduled to run from noon a.m. to 3 p.m. There is a $15 fee to enter a vehicle in the show. Awards are scheduled to be presented at 3 p.m. for Best Best Overall, Truck Custom, Truck Stock, Car Custom, Car Stock, Motorcycle Custom and Motorcycle Stock. Country music performance by Tanya Tucker

Legendary songstress Tanya Tucker is bringing her talent to Marietta. The award-winning country artist is set to perform at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7 at Peoples Bank Theatre. Tucker will be performing beloved classics like 'Delta Dawn" as well as new music from her album "Sweet Western Sound." Tickets start at $63 per person and can be purchased by visiting the Peoples Bank Theatre website. According to the website, "Tanya Tucker has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 per ticket goes to supporting Farm Aid and their work to cultivate a vibrant, just, and resilient family farm-centered system of agriculture in America." Music festival showcases local talent

Pritchard Laughlin will be the site of the inaugural Bo & Co Live Music Festival. The festival is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, Sept. 9. Showcasing local artists, the all-day event will be raising money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Food trucks will be on-site, and there will be vendors, raffles, alcohol sales for the 21 and up crowd, and merchandise tables to peruse. Over 15 acts are scheduled to perform, including Ethan Timm, Aven Abood, Turning Tydes, Nomadic Earth, Falling Under and more. Tickets range from $20 to $75 and can be purchased by visiting www.boandcomusic.com/event-details/bo-co-live-music-fest. Tickets will also be sold at the door.
