Looking for a king cake? Try one from these Austin restaurants and bakeries

Mardi Gras is next week and you know what that means. It's time for king cake.

King cakes traditionally have purple, yellow, and green icing and are a mix between coffee cake and a cinnamon roll. Austin has plenty of spots offering up king cakes this year. Here are a few:

Sugar Mama's Bake Shop

Sugar Mama's Bake Shop, 1905 South First St., has king cakes available Thursday through Saturday this week. The cakes are $32 and come in three flavors: praline pecan, chocolate cinnamon, and raspberry cream. You can order a king cake at: sugarmamabakeshop.com.

Walton's Fancy and Staple

Walton's Fancy and Staple, 609 West Sixth St., has king cakes available through Feb. 9. The cakes come in three sizes and six flavors: cream cheese, strawberry, lemon cream, chocolate, pecan praline, and cinnamon. Cakes start at $6 for a mini and go up to $35 depending on size. Sawyer and Co.

Sawyer and Co., 4827 East Cesar Chavez St., has king cakes available to purchase through Feb. 13. The cakes are $39.99 and are a traditional cinnamon cheese cake flavor. To place an order and for more information, visit sawyerand.co.

Tiny Pies

Tiny Pies is selling 4 inch king cakes for $5.95. The tiny cakes include cinnamon brioche an sweet icing. Tiny Pies has three Austin locations at 110 South Lamar Blvd., 5034 Burnet Road, and 1500 East Anderson Lane. More information can be found at: tinypies.com.

Easy Tiger

Easy Tiger's king cakes are available Friday through Sunday this week. The cakes are $26 each and have a cinnamon filling. Easy Tiger has three locations in Austin including: 6406 Interstate 35 Frontage Road, 3508 South Lamar Blvd., and 1501 East Seventh St. More information can be found at: easytigerusa.com.

H-E-B

Snag a king cake while you pick up your groceries. Your local H-E-B sells the cakes in several flavors, including cinnamon, apple, strawberry and pecan, for $9.34 each. heb.com.
