You could go to a Christmas tree lighting festival in Vero Beach, a fall boat show in Vero Beach, an Indian River Lagoon science festival in Fort Pierce, a holiday plant sale in Port St. Lucie or a festival of trees and lights in Stuart.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY
Tree Lighting Festival
3-6 p.m. Saturday
Pocahontas Park, 2140 14th Ave., Vero Beach
Kick off the holiday season with bubble snow, photos with Santa, musical performances, games, activities from 3-5 p.m., Santa’s arrival at 3:30 p.m., tree lighting at 5:30 p.m. and a movie on the green with “The Santa Claus.” Bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Vero Beach Fall Boat Show
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday
Riverside Park, 3001 Riverside Drive, Vero Beach
The 40th annual event features standup paddleboards, jet skis, deck boats, pontoon boats, shallow water skiffs, offshore fishing machines, cruisers and marine accessories, as well as food and refreshments.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY
Indian River Lagoon Science Festival
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday
River Walk Center, 600 N. Indian River Drive, Fort Pierce
The eighth annual event features over 70 hands-on activities from local organizations, live animals, explosive science shows, food trucks and raffles. Plus, admission is free to the St. Lucie County Aquarium and the St. Lucie County Regional History Center.

Holiday Arts & Crafts and Plant Sale
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday
Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens, 2410 S.E. Westmoreland Blvd., Port St. Lucie
Shop over 20 vendors offering a selection of arts, crafts and plants. Enjoy food and dessert trucks. Listen to pianist Ivan Borak perform on the promenade.

Festival of Trees and Lights
8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday
The Flagler of Stuart, 201 S.W. Flagler Ave., Stuart
The 16th annual event features trees, wreaths and holiday décor. Breakfast from 8:30-10:30 a.m. is followed by photos with Santa and family activities.
