Though South Florida is known for its winter season, the region is made for summer fun as well. Whether you feel like some culture and a live performance of Shakespeare's "Measure for Measure" at Seabreeze Amphitheater, a Van Halen tribute at Mizner Park or some of the best food along the Dixie Corridor get out and do something. Here are five fantastic options and even more great things to do in Palm Beach County.
In addition to the top five events listed there's always something great happening at places like The Norton Museum of Art or the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. On top of that you could always just enjoy a great meal with an equally great view at one of Palm Beach County's waterfront restaurants from Jupiter to Boca Raton.
1. Shakespeare by the Sea XXXIII at Seabreeze Amphitheater
Though not performed as often as some of the Bard's other comedies, this piece seems to "coincide with societal examinations of sexuality, morality, mercy and justice,” says festival artistic director Trent Stephens. Forming the cast this year are Shakespeare Festival veterans Darryl Willis as the Duke and Matthew Connor Paszkiet as Lucio. The role of Isabella will be performed by Festival newcomer Caroline Dopson.
The performances run from 8 to 10 p.m. and will be held Thursday, July 6, Friday, July 7, Saturday, July 8, Sunday, July 9, July 13, 14, 15 and 16. 750 S. A1A, Jupiter. Free, but $5 donation recommended. Information: pbshakespeare.org
2. Royal Palm Beach Summer Concert Series featuring VIVA Band
Get a heaping helping of some all-time classic rock n' roll after hitting up one of the nearly dozen food trucks serving up fantastic foods. The event is BYOB+C (Bring Your Own Blanket and Chair).

3. Boca Raton's Summer in the City series presents Best of Both Worlds
Rock out at Mizner Park with this group which celebrates both the David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar eras. Billing itself at "A Tribute to the History of Van Halen," go wild to one classic hit after another like "Unchained," "Hot For Teacher," "Ice Cream Man" or "Love Walks In," "Dreams," and many more. Food and beverage available for purchase inside venue. Sponsored by American Social and Waterstone Resort & Marina.

4. The Sweet Life of Honey Bees and Honey Tasting at Mounts Botanical Garden
Join beekeeper Joanna Diamond and enter the enchanting and fascinating world of honey bees. Discover little known but facts about them and find out how we can help these tiny, humble, hardworking creatures. Learn about the challenges they face, dispel myths, and learn all about beekeeping. Meet charming little orchid bees and enjoy a honey tasting session. Organic honey will be available for purchase after class, as well as a few orchid bee feeders.

5. Smoke & Sunset Neighborhood Cookout at Tropical Smokehouse
This event will bring together culinary delights from some the biggest names along the Dixie Corridor. There will be offerings from Tropical, Celis, Cholo Soy, Zipitios and Step Dad's Pizza along with beer from Civil Society Brewing. Keeping the mood rocking will the DJ Dubbs.
