You could go to a live music event that honors a local musician in Vero Beach, a burgers and craft beer festival in Vero Beach, a summertime movie at a theatre in Fort Pierce, a tropical fruit event in Stuart and an annual "frogman" swim and run in Jensen Beach.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY

Nez Fest

  • Noon to 9 p.m. Saturday

  • Walking Tree Brewery, 3209 Dodger Road, Vero Beach

  • The fifth annual event honors local musician Jason Nesbit, who lost his battle to cancer in 2018. It includes live music on two stages throughout the day, a variety of food trucks and commemorative merchandise for sale the day of the event. Proceeds benefit The Song Society that provides music therapy to children, teens and families affected by medical life-changes, cancer or chronic illness.

Burgers & Brews 2023

  • 2-7 p.m. Saturday

  • Riverside Park, 3250 Riverside Park Drive, Vero Beach

  • The annual event includes the best burger competition from 2-5:30 p.m., the apple pie eating contest at 4 p.m., a car show, craft beer, vendors, live music, a children’s zone and an adult games zone. Proceeds benefit United Against Poverty in Indian River County.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY

Summertime Movies

  • 3 p.m. Sunday

  • Sunrise Theatre, 117 S. Second St., Fort Pierce

  • The theater is showing four movies on Sundays this summer, including the musical movie performance of “The Greatest Showman.”

MARTIN COUNTY

Taste of the Tropics

  • 9 a.m. to noon Saturday

  • Martin County Fairgrounds, 2616 S.E. Dixie Highway, Stuart

  • Enjoy tropical fruit tasting and learn about growing tropical fruit in Martin County. Fruit trees will be available for purchase in the fair arena. Plus, there’s a 10 a.m. lecture on “Growing Backyard Fruit Trees” and an 11 a.m. “Ask the Experts” panel.

Aaron Vaughn Frogman Swim & Run

  • 7 a.m. to noon Saturday

  • Jensen Beach Public Beach, 4191 N.E. Ocean Blvd.

  • The 12th annual event honors fallen heroes whether you’re a swimmer, a runner or a spectator. It includes food, vendors, a tadpole swim, a kids’ zone and displays by Martin County first responders.

  • $35-$85 to register, free for spectators
