You could go to a 5K run or walk in Vero Beach to pay tribute to the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, an event with wine and cats in Palm City, a tropical fruit tasting in Port St. Lucie, a beer festival before a baseball game in Port St. Lucie or a Grandparents' Day celebration in Jensen Beach.
Here’s your Five on Friday weekend update for the Treasure Coast.
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY
Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk
7:15 a.m. Saturday
Riverside Park, 3001 Riverside Park Drive, Vero Beach
The event honors Stephen Siller, a firefighter with Brooklyn’s Squad 1, as a tribute to the nearly 3,000 victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Proceeds benefit several programs, such as assisting first responders and injured military service members and their families through the Smart Home Program, Fallen First Responder Home Program, Gold Star Family Home Program, Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Institute and Footsteps to the Future Endowment.
$35 registration for adults in advance, $45 at the race; $25 for military and first responders; $20 for ages 13-17 in advance, $30 at the race; $12 for kids ages 12 and younger, $22 at the race; plus fees
ST. LUCIE COUNTY
Kitty Catalina Wine Mixer
6-8 p.m. Friday
Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, 4100 S.W. Leighton Farm Ave., Palm City
The sixth annual event mingles friends and cats while you sample the finest wines from across Florida. Enjoy live music, light bites and raffle baskets. Ages 21 and older only. Proceeds benefit the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast. Cat adoption fees will be waived at the event.
$25 tickets in advance includes one raffle ticket, $30 at the event, plus processing fees
Taste of the Tropics
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday
Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens, 2410 S.E. Westmoreland Blvd., Port St. Lucie
Tour the gardens while you explore the world of tropical fruits on the Treasure Coast. The event features annuals, perennials, Florida-friendly plants, garden art and crafts. Talk with a garden expert and gather advice to make your garden flourish. Enjoy fruit tastings all day.

Field of Beers Festival
2:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday
Clover Park, 31 Piazza Drive, Port St. Lucie
Enjoy over 15 vendors including local breweries. Attendees will receive a sampling mug, listen to live music and watch college football on the video board before the Mets game at 6:10 p.m., which is followed by fireworks. Ages 21 and older only.
$35 tickets in advance, $40 at the gate; $10 for designated drivers
MARTIN COUNTY
Grandparents’ Day Celebration
Noon to 4 p.m. Sunday
Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast, 1707 N.E. Indian River Drive, Jensen Beach
Grandmas, grandpas and grandparent figures get in free to participate in an art-based activities and enjoy light refreshments.
Free for grandparents with purchase of $10 admission for children
