The fall season is here and while you won’t be rejoicing in a dramatic change in foliage, there are a lot of ways to welcome the change of season in South Florida. This is the time when we get to venture outside without threat of heatstroke and enjoy festivals, greenmarkets and new entertainment seasons. This weekend enjoy great 80s music along the West Palm Beach waterfront, get an Oktoberfest fix in November in Wellington, check out an outdoor art show at The Square and much more. Here are several fantastic options and even more great things to do in Palm Beach County.

In addition to the top five events listed there's always something great happening at places like The Norton Museum of Art or the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. On top of that you could always just enjoy a great meal with an equally great view at one of Palm Beach County's waterfront restaurants from Jupiter to Boca Raton. 1. Rocking to the '80s on the Waterfront

The SUNNY 107.9 Tribute Series Sunday on the Waterfront on Sunday, Nov. 19 will feature Switch Back to the '80s.

Part of the the SUNNY 107.9 Tribute Series, this concert will feature songs from the greatest decade in music (just ask anyone who agrees). Switch Back to the '80s will bring one classic song after another from artists including Tears for Fears, Loverboy, Rick Springfield, Night Ranger, The Romantics, Berlin, and STYX. Just to get you started, here's one line: "Jessie is a friend ..."

Hungry? There will be food trucks on site including Pepe’s Hey Babe!, A Kitchen DB and The Pink Shell.

2. Pop-Up Biergarten at Wellington Town Center Promenade

The Pop-Up Biergarten at Wellington Town Center Promenade will be held Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 18. It will feature German and American craft beers, food, music and more.

This German-style biergarten will coincide with Wellington's Friday Lakeside Market and Saturday Concert Series and will feature Hofbräuhaus Bier from München and American craft beers and ciders, along with sausage, pretzels, and other German foods for purchase. Music and stein-hoisting contests will round out this family-friendly experience.

3. West Palm Beach Art Festival at The Square

This outdoor art festival will feature artists' tents, arranged gallery style, filled with all mediums of fine art including life-size sculptures, spectacular paintings, one-of-a-kind jewelry, photography, ceramics and more. Artists will be on site to discuss their inspirations and processes for each hand-made work.

The event is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 and Sunday, Nov. 19. 700 S. Rosemary Ave., West Palm Beach. Free. Information: artfestival.com

4. Gem, Mineral, Bead, Jewelry & Fossil Show

This event will feature over 80 dealers from around the country offering fine jewelry, southwestern Indian jewelry, loose beads, minerals for specimen collecting and more. There will also be educational exhibits and activities.

The event is 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19. 9067 Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach. $10 per day, $15 for both days, children under 12 free. Information: gmspb.org

5. 'The Nutcracker' presented by Paris Ballet

Bonus: Palm Beach Zoo Lights

Yes, we are still pulling the taffy from our teeth after Halloween and the turkey prep is days away, but everywhere the holiday season is in full launch, including at the Palm Beach Zoo. For the fifth year running, the zoo will team with Florida Power & Light Co. to drape the grounds in a holiday glow. Opening night is Friday, Nov. 17 and the zoo will remain bathed in thousands of lights through Jan. 7. For more information go to palmbeachzoo.org.
