Best Halloween Costumes 2023
If you're a big fan of Halloween, you have probably already been looking on Amazon or checking out Halloween stores for ideas. From stalking Spirit stores, here's a glance of what may be popping up at your front door this Oct. 31.
And don't forget Taylor Swift — these costumes are popular nationwide.
Barbie and Ken
Spirit store employees say Barbie costumes, from the 80s skating Barbie look to wearing pink sweaters and the Barbie Box as part of the outfit, will be popular for both girls and women. There are accessories for the Ken costume for those who want to go out as a couple.
Movie costumes for Halloween always popular choice
For men and boys, movies and superheroes are always a good inspiration for popular costumes. Think of the popular slasher villain Ghostface from the "Scream" movie. The movie franchise has been keeping the costume alive since the 1990s. "Nightmare Before Elm Street," "Top Gun," and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" are also inspiring costume ideas for men and boys.
Wednesday Addams
The Addams family is always a fun inspiration for family or friend groups. The character Wednesday is usually a popular costume and easy to put together for girls and women.
With the new hit series on Netflix, the Wednesday costume has gotten a bit more chic, based on Jenna Ortega's outfit during the dance scene.
In general, for the middle school crowd, costumes tend to be milder versions of the adult sexy costumes. Instead of Sizzling Devil costume for women, you'll find Devil Diva for the 8-10 set with a jumpsuit, headband and sequined pitchfork for $39.99.
Inflatables
For those with a sense of humor, inflatable costumes seem the way to go. These days there is a whole wall in the Spirit store devoted to inflatable costumes from sumo wrestlers, and rubber chickens to bull and dinosaur riders.
Dino Ranch characters
For young children, Disney-inspired costumes from Mickey Mouse to princesses, seem just right. Toddlers might enjoy getting to dress as one of the ranchers from Dino Ranch, a Canadian animated children's television show. The costume comes with a strapped dinosaur.
