Looking back at Emily Ratajkowski’s career, from 'Blurred Lines' to 'Gone Girl' and beyond

Model and actress Emily Ratajkowski might feel very of the moment, but the truth is that she’s been working for more than a decade.

As she celebrates her 28th birthday on June 7, take a look back at her career so far:

Ratajkowski was already studying with an acting coach at 14, when she followed a suggestion to contact a modeling agency. She ultimately signed with Ford, but she didn’t forget about her first love.

Over the years, Ratajkowski has worked as both a model and an actress, including playing a role on Nickelodeon’s iCarly in 2009.

Both worlds collided when she starred in the video for Robin Thicke’s smash hit “Blurred Lines” in 2013. Like the song, the video was a big deal!

Ratajkowski followed up her breakthrough role with a part in the much-anticipated 2014 movie Gone Girl and then, in 2015, We Are Your Friends, alongside Zac Efron.

Impressively, she made her debut as a runway model the same year.

“Right before I walked out on to the red carpet, [designer] Marc [Jacobs] tied the bow on my blouse and fixed my jacket and said, ‘This is the sweetest I've ever seen you.’ I could tell he was happy and full of energy, and it made me remember what I like about modeling: It's wonderful to be a part of an incredibly creative person's vision,” she told Vogue magazine at the time.

Ratajkowski has since returned to both the runway and the set.

Next, she’ll star in the upcoming TV comedy Bright Futures, alongside YouTube star Lilly Singh and Friends alum Lisa Kudrow.

Imagine what she can do in 28 more years.
