Wednesday’s Season 1 finale of The New Look debuted Christian Dior’s iconic silhouette. But according to Maisie Williams, who plays Dior’s sister Catherine in the Apple TV+ drama, the best finale fashion moment isn’t Dior’s dramatic cinched-waists, nor his show-stopping full skirts.

For Williams, the best New Look fashion comes to down to the details — the kind of finishes you may not have even noticed on a TV screen.

Williams believes Catherine’s suit worn while receiving a medal for her bravery and courage in the final episode is her best look from the series, calling it “just so good.”

“The lapel has this longer piece to it and it actually dives in and out of the suit,” she reveals.

She calls the look “beautiful for, like, no reason” and says the outfit stands out to her despite being worn during a difficult day for her character.

“I just, myself being out of the scene, loved that little detail on the lapel,” Williams reveals.

Williams’ other favorite fashion moments are equally as unexpected as the threading of a collar: the design sketches.

“I’ve always been so fascinated by fashion sketches and I’ve always loved doing them, too,” Williams tells TVLine. “I just love drawing these crazy alien girls that are, like, super long and, like, these dresses that go on forever with all this detail.”
