On Thursday, Cassie Ventura broke her silence in response to the triggering and now-viral video of her being assaulted at the hands of Diddy back in 2016.

In a lengthy statement posted to her personal Instagram, Ventura thanked her fans, followers, strangers and closest friends for the “love and support” they’ve shown her and encouraged people to believe survivors of domestic violence the first time.

“ The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning. Domestic Violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past,” she said in part.

She continued:

Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to take this matter seriously. My only ask is that EVERYONE open your heart to believing victims the first time. It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in. I offer my hand to those that are still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone. This healing journey is never ending, but this support means everything to me.

Her sentiments echo the ones her husband Alex Fine wrote nearly a week ago on his personal Instagram: “To all the survivors, your stories are real, and people believe you. To all the survivors, you’re not alone and there are men and women who care only for your well-being and safety...To all the abusers, you’re done, you’re not safe anymore, you’re not protected anymore.”

And while the rehashing of the gaping and harsh wound that is domestic violence would be enough to possibly hinder anyone’s growth and happiness, Ventura and Fine appear to be healing and moving forward post-Diddy drama.

About Cassie and Alex

After Cassie and Diddy split in 2018, she met Fine shortly after. The two would go on to marry in August 2019 and subsequently have their first child, daughter Frankie in 2020. In December that same year, she announced she was pregnant with their second child, daughter Sunny.

Over the course of their four-year marriage, it’s clear the love between the two and their family continues to blossom. For Mother’s Day earlier this month, Fine posted a photos and videos of the three most important girls in his life, captioning in the post: “Happy Mother’s Day to the best mama to our two little babies and French fry. We love you to the moon and back 100000000xinfinity.”

Cassie doesn’t hesitate to also shower Fine with love, writing in a birthday post to him back in March:

“There’s literally nothing like spending this life with my three best friends. I have to pinch myself everyday. I love you with the heart, to the moon and back for eternity. Happy Birthday Alex, you have my heart forever.”

What Are They Up to Now?

These days, Cassie is basking in her role as a mom and wife. But most recently, she teamed up with journalist Elaine Welteroth’s birthFUND, an organization dedicated to providing need-based grants to mothers and families for holistic perinatal care and midwifery birth support services. She also hasn’t let her music side go as she performed at the 2023 Lovers & Friends festival.

She and Fine also run their family wellness brand, Almost Home, which provides workout programs, meal plans, merch and more. The duo also model from time to time and can be seen gracing runways and magazine covers.
