So long, fur-well! Kitty Jackie Evancho eliminated during ‘The Masked Singer’ quarterfinals

Spoiler alert! This story contains details from the May 6 episode of "The Masked Singer," including the identity of the eliminated celebrity.

Another “Masked Singer” contestant made her exit – amid the quarterfinals.

Five challengers became four on Wednesday’s show where the on-staff sleuths – Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke – were joined by guest panelist comedian Jeff Dye.

Following the performance of each costumed contestant, the panel and viewers were treated to an additional clue about their hidden identity in the form of a “borrowed package,” presented as a delivery taken from the porch of the celeb.

Frog

Clues: Frog hopped to it, kicking off the show. In his clue package he spoke with his “little frog” from his car. The young one is on Frog’s mind in “every move, every groove, every hippity hop,” the challenger said. As far as telling objects, the snippet included three loaves of French bread and a falcon.

And, if the panel wants it, Frog’s got it. His performance of Young MC’s “Bust a Move,” impressed the panel and he wowed Scherzinger with his dance moves.

While Frog appreciated how far he’s come in the competition, he let it be known he wanted to go all the way. “I’m here to win that golden mask for my kid, baby,” he said.

Frog’s box yielded a model of a private jet. “I challenge you to figure out what this plane is all about,” he told the panel.

Guesses: McCarthy went with “Avengers: Endgame” actor Anthony Mackie, while Thicke stuck with his guess of rapper Bow Wow. Jeong thought of dancer Derek Hough, and Dye – Oh my God, Becky – threw out “Baby Got Back” artist Sir Mix-a-Lot.

Kitty

Clues: “My creativity comes from all across the globe,” Kitty shared. “See, I first started traveling when I was very young. And while I had incredible experiences, I also felt like I couldn’t be myself.”

As she traveled in a hot-air balloon, she added: “While my career may be up in the air, here I’m over the rainbow.”

Kitty delivered a soulful performance of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” while accompanied onstage by a feather bedecked piano player.

She affirmed McCarthy’s notion that she had grown more confident throughout her “Masked Singer” journey.

“I have had many moments of doubt in my career, but being on this stage has given me the reassurance that I do have what it takes to be here,” she said.

A bow and arrow were revealed inside her borrowed package. “Aim your sights, and it should help you target who I am,” she said.

Guesses: McCarthy thought “Glee” alum Lea Michele was the purr-fect guess, and Dye gave a more general response: “one of those Olsen Twins” (Mary-Kate and Ashley). Scherzinger thought she heard the voice of “The Knight Before Christmas” star Vanessa Hudgens.

Clues: Rhino once again sang the praises of his wife. “Before she came along, I’d had some majors struggles – personal and professional,” he said.

The contender said he originally thought he would never get married or have kids. “But there’s something about meeting the love of your life that makes you a better man,” he said. “It made me a family man.”

It appears, according to an illustration of baby elephants, that Rhino has three children.

His sentimentality bled into his performance of The Righteous Brothers’ “You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin',” which led Scherzinger to exclaim, “He’s such a romantic!”

After a Navy hat was unboxed from his borrowed package, Rhino revealed, “I have worn many different hats, but this one holds very special meaning.”

Guesses: Scherzinger suspects Rhino is country artist Jason Aldean, while Dye thought of another star in the genre: Trace Adkins. Jeong believes it’s “JAG” star David James Elliott.

Night Angel

Clues: The celestial contestant said her “musical journey started when I was just 4 years old,” though she has not always been in the spotlight for her vocal talents.

“While you haven’t always known me for music, I’ve been able to sing through passion and through pain,” she said. Three lipsticks and a map of Colombia were included in her borrowed package.

The self-described “kid from the South” belted out Donna Summer’s “Last Dance” that left McCarthy certain Night Angel would fly to the finals.

Night Angel thought a delivery of snow gear (boots and goggles) would assist in identifying her.

“I figured I’d help you out and help you get warmer, because you’re very cold,” she told the panel.

Guesses: Jeong thinks it’s Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins from TLC wearing the wings. Scherzinger has her sights set on Tameka "Tiny" Harris of Xscape, and Dye believes he solved the case with his guess of musician Alicia Keys.

Clues: Turtle revealed his “Masked Singer” persona made him “feel like a superhero,” while outside of his get-up, he has “a ton of insecurities.” He was shown working on a Jeep, and then catching the criminals shown on a wanted poster offering a reward of $1,999. Other clues include a green mop, a wedding cake with bride-and-groom topper, and poker chips.

Thicke called his performance of Coldplay’s “Fix You” “beautiful,” and Scherzinger felt it was “the best performance so far of the season.”

Inside his large container stood a zombie dummy.

“You may be dead wrong about who I am, but this clue should send you in the right direction,” he said.

Guesses: Dye thought it might be “The Walking Dead” actor Norman Reedus, and Jeong pictured Backstreet Boys’ Howie Dorough. Scherzinger suspected actor/singer Jesse McCartney.

The elimination

It turned out to be last call for Kitty. Scherzinger, Dye and McCarthy stuck with their guesses from earlier in the night: Hudgens, either Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen and Michele, respectively. Thicke thought the clues pointed to “Carol's Second Act” actress Ashley Tisdale, while they made Jeong think of “Pitch Perfect” star Anna Kendrick. But apparently all their guesses were off. Kitty was revealed to be singer Jackie Evancho, who appeared on Season 5 of "America's Got Talent" in 2010.

“You surprised and shocked everyone!” said host Nick Cannon. “Why ‘The Masked Singer’?”

“I wanted to show a different side of myself,” Evancho said. “I have been stuck in this stereo-type of a 10-year-old girl, since I was 10 years old. And now I'm almost 20, and I’m glad that this experience has given me the chance to kind of break out of that.”

“I want to say thank you guys so much,” she added, “because without you, I don’t think I would’ve discovered where I want to take my career and who I want to represent myself as in the future."
