El Chullo Peruvian Restaurant & Bar, known for making exquisite ceviche, has opened its long-awaited second location in the Melrose district in Phoenix.

El Chullo first debuted in Phoenix in 2014 and has since become a Valley favorite. The second location has been a long time in the making. The Arizona Republic first reported on the expansion in 2018 after the building's previous tenant Los Compadres Fine Mexican Restaurant closed.

What's on the menu at El Chullo Restaurant?

In addition to the ceviche, other menu highlights include tallarines con crema de mariscos, a creamy Peruvian seafood pasta made with spaghetti and topped with chopped cilantro; saltados stir-fried beef tenderloin, chicken or veggies; and Peruvian-Chinese fusion fried rice dishes.

The new location will also serve some new items such as tallarines a la huancaina steak pasta; a "Poseidon platter" featuring nikkei, chalaquita, mozzarella and aji amarillo scallops; and the "Piqueo on 7th Avenue" combo, which includes anticuchos grilled skewers, papa rellena and papa a la huancaina.
