Loki star Tom Hiddleston shared his honest thoughts about what would happen if the newly redeemed God of Mischief encountered Thor.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Hiddleston was asked about a potential reunion with Chris Hemsworth‘s Thor following the season finale of Loki Season 2, where the God of Mischief saved the Time Variance Authority and preserved the sacred timelines.

“It’s a really good question,” Hiddleston said. “I think they would be very surprised by each other. In some ways, Thor and Loki have never been further apart, but they’re also closer together. They’ve been through so much. They’ve been confronted by so much. They’ve had to endure so much and suffer so much. But it’s curious, isn’t it? It’s curious if people change, if people move on, if they’re brave enough to make peace with the past and acknowledge their mistakes and missteps, sometimes those closest to you find it hardest to accept that you’re different, that they cling to older versions of you somehow. It would definitely be an interesting conversation.”

Hiddleston is not the only one interested in a Thor and Loki reunion. Loki Season 2 executive producer Kevin Wright expressed interest in the possibility and believes the God of Mischief’s new attitude sets it up for a future MCU project.

“That’s the hope,” Wright said. “I think the sun shining on Loki and Thor once again has always been the priority of the story we’re telling. But for that meeting to really be fulfilling, we have to get Loki to a certain place emotionally. I think that’s been the goal of these two seasons.”

Loki’s redemption in the MCU

Hiddleston’s original Loki in the MCU’s Infinity Saga saw an arc that began with severing ties with his brother in 2011’s Thor and ended with his sacrifice to save him in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. His variant, who escaped with the Tesseract during the time heist in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, paved the way for his new storyline in Loki Season 1 on Disney+. The series sees the God of Mischief uncovering the sinister goals of the TVA, later to be revealed to be under the control of Kang (Jonathan Majors).

Both seasons of Loki are streaming now on Disney+.
