Majors, who made his MCU debut on season 1 of 'Loki,' is currently in the midst of an assault trial following his arrest in March

Jonathan Majors' arrest and subsequent legal battle came at an inopportune time, given the kick-off of his integral role in Loki season 2.

In an interview with Variety, series executive producer Kevin Wright opened up about whether Majors' offscreen legal troubles had any impact on the Disney+ show's upcoming second season, premiering Thursday.

"No. This is maybe — not maybe — this is the first Marvel series to never have any additional photography," Wright explained. "The story that is on screen is the story we set out to make. We went out there with a very specific idea of what we wanted this to be, and we found a way to tell it in that production period. It’s very much what’s on screen on Disney+."

Wright also confirmed there had been no discussions about making changes and doing additional photography on the new season, adding that "it felt hasty to do anything without knowing how all of this plays out."

However, in addressing how the Loki team initially planned to approach season 2, the producer said they "had to just keep reminding ourselves that the TVA [Time Variance Authority] is a great world, let’s live in the drama of what we’re creating there."

"Which means not fast-forwarding through the drama that they just decided to stop pruning timelines, but also staying in the emotional turmoil that Loki and Sylvie are coming into this season with," he continued. "Also, there were certain things in season 1 that felt like they were maybe a risk, and we didn’t know how the audience would respond. Once we realized that they embraced it, it felt like a lot of freedom to go further."

Majors initially made his Marvel debut in Loki season 1 as He Who Remains, a variant of the multiverse's villainous Kang the Conqueror. From there, in February, he returned with a bigger role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Majors, 34, was arrested in New York City in March for an alleged domestic dispute involving him and another woman. He was then charged with multiple misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment.

In the aftermath, Majors — who has denied all allegations — was dropped from various projects. The public relations company representing the Lovecraft Country actor also terminated their relationship with him.

His assault trial was recently delayed for a third time.
