Add Logan Lerman to the list of people who are excited about Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the Disney+ television adaptation of Rick Riordan’s best-selling novels.

The actor, who portrayed the title hero in the films based on the first two novels in the series, shared a sweet note with the main cast of the series — Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri — during a live taping of the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

“The show looks amazing,” Lerman told the cast in a note read aloud by host Josh Horowitz. “I can’t wait to see you all crush it in your roles. You’re making a lot of people happy bringing these characters to life.”

The Hunters star had a special message for Scobell, who takes on the role of Percy in the series, saying,
“I can’t imagine a better fit for Percy Jackson than Walker. You were so brilliant in The Adam Project. I hope you like eating blue food the next few years because I think you have a hit show on your hands.”

Scobell responded to Lerman’s surprise by admitting that it feels good to know the previous actor who brought Percy Jackson to life is in his corner and wishing him well. While the two actors haven’t met yet, Scobell shared that they have spoken before.

“I watched one of his movies, Perks of Being a Wallflower,” he said. “I really liked it. I thought it was so good, I DM’d him and told him.”

The first two episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians hit Disney+ on Dec. 20. Subsequent episodes will drop once a week on Wednesdays until the finale on Jan. 31, 2024.
