Local Weather Reporter Interrupted by Windows 10 Update During Broadcast
Ever get on your computer to handle some important administrative tasks only to interrupted by an automated update message? Now imagine that happening on live television. KCCI Des Moines Meteorologist Metinka Slater got a little surprise when the computer recommended updating to Windows 10 — right in the middle of the broadcast. “Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 10, what should I do?” Slater joked. “Don’t you love when that pops up?” Don’t wait too long to update, Slater. TechRadar.com gave Windows 10 four and a half stars, while the Telegraph described the OS as “a fresh start for Microsoft.”
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only technical snafu for Slater. Her clicker to switch over to the next screen wasn’t working, which she immediately blamed on the suggested update. While this isn’t the worst local weather report mishap, Slater did take the whole thing in stride — which is all we can ask for from our local meteorologist.
