Lloyd Banks Using “Nipsey Hussle Method” Of Selling New Mixtape For $100

Lloyd Banks is already preparing to release his next mixtape. The 41-year-old rapper will be channeling his inner Nipsey Hussle in terms of the method by which fans will be able to procure the music.

On Wednesday (Nov. 1), a fan acknowledged via X, formerly known as Twitter, how the former G-Unit member was “wilding” for dropping multiple projects this year, as he promoted his forthcoming mixtape Cold Corner 3 in a now-deleted post. Banks quoted the user and wrote, “It’s all good..CC3 won’t be on streaming sites..only available thru me for $100 then we’ll see if they back the talking up.”

The “Beamer, Benz, Or Bentley” rapper received some negative feedback on the price of the project, with one fan saying they had been waiting over a decade for it. “10 dollars per year..that’s not bad,” Banks jokingly replied with a laughing emoji. Check out the exchange below.

Banks’ approach for Cold Corner 3 mirrors the approach Nipsey Hussle took with his 2013 mixtape Crenshaw. He sold 1,000 copies for $100 each which allowed him to rack up $100,000 on top of all of the free downloads available online. It showed that his fans had a genuine investment in his artistry as they opened their wallets to retrieve music at a price that was higher than what people would pay for a typical project. Jay-Z was impressed with the business decision and purchased 100 copies of the project himself.

For Banks, if Cold Corner 3 comes out this year, that would mark his third release in 2023. In April, he shared The Course Of The Inevitable 3: Pieces Of My Pain which featured Method Man, Dave East, Tony Yayo, Vado, 38 Spesh, and Cormega. This week, on Halloween, he shared Halloween Havoc IV: The 72nd Hr which featured Vado and Sy Ari Da Kid.

The New York rapper also revealed, in his now-deleted tweet, that he plans to release his own Gangsta Grillz mixtape. Given the reception to his career resurgence over the last few years, this run could potentially rival his highly-lauded G-Unit era. Check out Halloween Havoc IV: The 72nd Hr below.
