The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards brought flashy celebrity style to the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. on Sunday night (Aug. 28) for it’s annual celebration of talent across genres and generations. Young and rising acts such as Yo Gotti’s newest signee Glo Rilla and Florida-bred multihyphenate Doechii took to the red carpet alongside established artists, including the likes of proven superstar Lil Nas X and a solo-standing Offset. Hip-Hop veterans like Snoop Dogg and LL Cool J, one of this year’s emcees, made the glamorous walk-through.
The Queens-bred rapper was joined by Nicki Minaj, the 2022 Michael Jackson Video Vanguard honoree, and Lousiville rhymer Jack Harlow to bring the energetic production to life. The “Moment For Life” rapper also took the stage and performed a medley of her biggest songs before accepting the coveted award. Additionally, Lizzo, Eminem and Snoop Dogg, Bad Bunny, and more vibrantly displayed their performance skills for the 2022 VMA audience.

Bad Bunny reigned as one of the night’s biggest winners, making history as the first non-English language act to take home the Artist Of The Year award. Other artists joining the Puerto Rican musician on a victory lap include Jack Harlow, who won Song Of The Summer for “First Class,” as well as Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby for “Do We Have A Problem?” The Weekend earned the Best R&B moon person for “Out Of Time” and Doja Cat’s “Woman” took home Best Choreography.
