LL Cool J and others join Hall of Fame ceremony

The 80's rock band The Go-Go's, rapper LL Cool J and entertainment executive Clarence Avant greeted fans ahead of the official ceremony on Saturday at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.

New York native LL Cool J thanked all those who helped him claim a spot in the hall.

"I just want to say there are so many people who gave me so much love and kept saying, L, we've got to get you in there. I want to acknowledge those people and just say I appreciate it," said the rapper who is receiving the award for musical excellence.

Singer Tina Turner, rapper Jay-Z, the band Foo Fighters, singer-songwriter Carole King and rocker Todd Rundgren round out the new class.
