Lizzo Has the Most 2020 Grammy Nominations

"Cuz I Love" you reigns supreme.

Lizzo's year of reign has officially been solidified with the 2020 Grammy nominations.

The "Truth Hurts" singer cleaned up with a whopping eight nominations for her Cuz I Love You album. Her list of nominations include: Record, Album, Song, New Artist, Pop Solo Performance, R&B Performance, Traditional R&B Performance, and Best Urban Contemporary Album.

Born Melissa Viviane Jefferson in Detroit, Lizzo has been making music since her teenage years but was propelled into the mainstream with her third studio album this year. In addition to racking in honors, the singer toured with her album this summer, with one notable moment of being cheered on by Beyoncé at Made in America.

“I’ve always stood up for the underdog and the underrepresented because I can’t escape from that myself,” Lizzo told Teen Vogue in a 2018 interview. “I can’t wake up one day and not be Black. I can’t wake up one day and not be a woman. I can’t wake up one day and not be fat. I always had those three things against me in this world, and because I fight for myself, I have to fight for everyone else.”

Lizzo is also nominated for three American Music Award nominations, which airs this Sunday, November 24.
