From live music to stilt walking, here's what to know about the popular NuLu Fest

It's nearly time to shut down the street in NuLu for the neighborhood's popular annual autumn block party. NuLu Fest returns for its 13th year on Saturday, Sept. 23 with local food, craft beers, bourbons, local and regional vendors, and live music.

Not to be confused with the NuLu Bock Fest, held in March and featuring goat racing, NuLu Fest is held in September. The free, family-friendly block party celebrates the continued growth and revitalization of Louisville’s East Market District, as well as the thriving businesses that have helped make NuLu a top Louisville destination.

Visitors can enjoy live music, regional micro-brewed beers, activities for all ages, and numerous food and retail booths by local vendors at NuLuFest, which is free and open to the public.

Live music from SonaBLAST! records artists include Ben Fugate & The Burning Trash Band, Mod Kiddo, Luke Powers, The Daddy Sisters, and Kiana & The Sun Kings.

In addition to live music, attendees can enjoy performances and wandering entertainment including stilt walking, LED performances, hula hooping, juggling, belly dancing, fire spinning, magic tricks, and special activities for children throughout the day. There will also be live art demonstrations including painting, glass blowing, metalworking, macrame, and pottery.

When is the 13th annual NuLu Fest?

The 2023 festival is held Saturday, Sept. 23 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Where is NuLu Fest held?

The street will be shut down for the festival on the 600, 700, and 800 blocks of East Market Street in the NuLu neighborhood.

Where do I park for NuLu Fest?

There are several side streets in the area that have free parking on the weekend as well as surface lots. Additionally, NuLu Fest will have a shuttle running from 2-6 p.m. between Lynn Family Stadium, 350 Adams St., and NuLu Fest, with a drop-off location at Main and Shelby streets and a pick-up location at the northwest side of Lynn Family Stadium.

Can I bring my pet to NuLu Fest?

Please leave your pets at home. According to organizers, only service animals are allowed.
