'Little Women': Watch The Trailer For The New Version, Starring Emma Watson And Meryl Streep

The trailer for Little Women is here. Though we've had a movie version in the past, this one has Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, Timothee Chalamet, Meryl Streep and others. Everyone stans Meryl Streep, so this should go over well.

A Contentious Time

The classic novel by Louisa May Alcott chronicles the lives of the March sisters: Meg, Amy, Beth and Jo, who live in New England. The Civil War has recently ended.

Greta Gerwig is the director, and has also written the screenplay for the movie, which is due in theaters Dec. 25.

Little Women, Big Dreams

Every generation has their coming-of-age film, and though a retelling of the traditional novel "Little Women" may not have been what the kids are looking for, it sure seems like a delight.

Set to a windswept score, the trailer gives us a tiny insight into the hopes and dreams of the March girls, who want to be, among other things, an artist, an actress, a writer, and more.

Marrying a man is not high on their list, but this is the post-Civil War era, so the sisters are fighting generational norms along with their raging hormones.

Hair To Stay

The 1994 movie version starred Winona Ryder, Kirsten Dunst, Susan Sarandon, Claire Danes and Christian Bale. That movie was also well-received and garnered several awards.

Fans seem happy with this new casting of Little Women and the overall look of the film.

They're even happy with the hair choreography, which does appear to be quite gorgeous.
