Directed by Lisa Cortés and executive produced by Dee Rees, in conjunction with Magnolia Pictures and Rolling Stone Films, Little Richard: I Am Everything tells the story of the pioneering artist, who blended genres and broke barriers with his unique sense of style and musicality.

Through archival interviews, concert footage and new interviews with friends, family, artists and historians, the documentary uncovers the origins of Little Richard (a.k.a. Richard Penniman) and explores his lasting impact that is still felt on music today.

Per the official film description, the doc “unspools the icon’s life story with all its switchbacks and contradictions” and “reveals how Richard created an art form for ultimate self-expression, yet what he gave to the world he was never able to give to himself. The world tried to put him in a box, but Richard was an omni being who contained multitudes – he was unabashedly everything.”

Little Richard: I Am Everything premiered at Sundance in January 2023 before hitting theaters in April. The film also aired as a special on CNN in September. Now, viewers can watch Little Richard: I Am Everything online through iTunes or Amazon Prime Video.

The film is not rated and has a run time of one hour and 38 minutes.
