Apple dropped the trailer for its upcoming anthology series “Little America” on Thursday, which comes from “The Big Sick” team (and married couple) Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon and is inspired by the true stories featured in Epic Magazine.
In the trailer above, you’ll see that “Little America” aims to go “beyond the headlines to bring to life the funny, romantic, heartfelt and surprising stories of immigrants in America.” And that includes some really great “Only in America…” jokes.
The anthology series, which will launch all eight of its Season 1 episodes Jan. 17 on Apple TV+, stars Zachary Quinto (“Star Trek” franchise), Haaz Sleiman (“Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,” “The Visitor”), Mélanie Laurent (“Inglorious Bastards”), Shaun Toub (“The Path to 9/11,” “Little King”), Conphidance (“Klipper,” “I am My Own Mother”) and Sherilyn Fenn (“Twin Peaks”).
By the way, in the trailer, you’ll see Quinto rockin’ a long, majestic head of hair. We don’t know who his character is yet, but we dig that look.
“Little America” hails from Universal Television and is written and executive produced by Lee Eisenberg (“The Office,” Good Boys), who serves as showrunner. Nanjiani (The Big Sick, “Silicon Valley”) and Gordon (The Big Sick) also executive produce, along with Alan Yang (“Master of None,” “Parks and Recreation”), Sian Heder (“Tallulah,” “Orange Is the New Black”), Joshuah Bearman (“Argo”), Joshua Davis (“Spare Parts”) and Arthur Spector (“The Shack”). Heder also serves as co-showrunner alongside Eisenberg.
The show has already been renewed for a second season ahead of its debut.
“Little America” premieres Jan. 17 on Apple TV+.
