After returning to the stage with Jakob Nowell taking the place of his late father Bradley as the band’s singer, Sublime has released “Feel Like That,” their first new song in 28 years. The track originates from an incomplete outtake recorded during 1996 sessions for the band’s self-titled album at Willie Nelson’s Pedernales Studio in Austin, Tx. Both Nowell father and son appear on the track, with Bradley giving a freestyle and Jakob contributing vocals along with Scott Woodruff.

“Feel Like That” was produced by Stick Figure, who built the track off the instrumentation from the Austin session, and Johnny Cosmic, along with longtime Sublime collaborator Michael “Miguel” Happoldt.

More from Spin:

Earlier this year, we spoke with Nowell and Gaugh about the band’s unlikely reunion. In our conversation, Gaugh said there were plans for new Sublime music with the younger Nowell. “It feels so good to release a new, previously unheard song and with Jake and his dad on the same track?! Can you feel it?! I sure as fuck can!!” drummer Bud Gaugh tells SPIN.

Sublime has a series of festival dates on the horizon, beginning June 1 in Virginia Beach, Va., for the Point Break Festival and June 8 at No Values in Pomona, Calif.
